The guys over at Ain’t It Cool News are reporting that Sir Ridley Scott is going to be directing a Blade Runner sequel.

I’m not sure what is up with acclaimed British director Ridley Scott and his recent desire to return to his old material. Lucas takes to the skies again with Red Tails

Apart from the Clone Wars animated series, everything that Lucasfilm has been involved in for the past twenty-five-odd years has been a bit…tainted. Sure, Indiana Jones 4 wasn’t half bad, but generally the folks didn’t care for it much. Then there’s the Star Wars prequels.

It seems that George Lucas has pulled his figure out by executive producing the WWII movie, Red Tails (i.e. he signed the cheque). The film’s director is Anthony Hemingway whose TV work you would have seen on vampire drama True Blood and the Battlestar Galactica reboot.

John Carter, Warlord of Mars gets the Disney treatment

Life on Mars?

Disney gets our asses to Mars, bringing Edgar Rice Burroughs’ John Carter to the silver screen.

I’ll admit to only knowing about  John Carter though the 1970s Marvel Comics series- John Carter, Warlord of Mars.

The John Carter’s story is relayed via Burroughs himself as he investigates the life of his “Uncle John”.  Carter is a Confederate soldier in the American Civil War that finds himself transported to a populated Mars, not the barren wasteland that NASA has shown us.
